The Olympic unit names representatives of ten non-Olympic sports included in the LOV
The Latvian Olympic Association (LOV) has approved ten of the 12 members of the 2021 team in non-Olympic summer sports, LOV informed on Thursday.
For the first time, 12 places have been reserved for non-Olympic sports in the LOV.
Currently, ten of the 12 athletes are known. They are: Mārtiņš Sesks (motorsport - car rally), Nikolass Bertāns (motorsport - drift), Justus Grencis (motorsport - autocross), PaulsJonas (motorsport - MXGP class), Andrzejs Lebedevs (motorsport - speedway), Kārlis Alberts Reišulis (motorsport - 125 cubic centimeter class), Sandra Grosberga, Rūdolfs Zērnis, Uldis Upītis (all - orienteering sports) and Ieva Millere (water motor sports - speedboats).
In 2021, LOV athletes will be provided with support in the field of sports medicine, sports science and education. In turn, financial support will be provided by the LOK and sports federations.
